Media Retainers
A media retainer package is an agreement between you (the client) and Caret Film to work together on more than one project or goal for an extended period of time. We provide you with more content at better rates. Your retainer fee is paid monthly and reserves a predetermined set of our services to be directed towards your marketing goals. Retainer packages have many benefits for both us and our clients, the most significant being the development of a deeper relationship that allows for more consistent progress towards marketing goals than working on a project-by-project basis. A media retainer package is perfect for businesses who need video and photo services on a monthly basis, but don’t want the overhead of hiring a full time video or photo department.
Retainers with Caret Film are currently invite only for long-standing clients who we’ve cultivated a strong working relationship with.
What do I get in my retainer?
Well, we approach retainers from a “points” standpoint, rather than an hourly mark. We’ve realized with hours, it’s hard to always get the necessary outcome when we’re constantly monitoring how many hours all the time.
You pay monthly for a set of points that is good for that quarter. Use your points however you like. Look below, you’ll get the idea.
How are quarters calculated?

BASIC PHOTO -
1 Point
This is a basic photo shoot, with a basic background and quick lighting setup. This is typically reserved for updating headshots or new headshots for when you’re onboarding new team members.
ADVANCED PHOTO -
2 Points
Styled shoot for marketing photos. Think on-location showcasing your employees doing what they do best.
BASIC VIDEO -
1 Point
This is a quick shoot where maybe you only need us to give you the RAW footage, or possibly your CEO is speaking at a marketing event and you want us to show up with a camera and capture it. Regardless, this is something that doesn’t take a lot of production time on our end.
ADVANCED VIDEO -
2 Points
This is a more involved video, where we’re coming out for a few hours on-location, possibly putting together a script of some sort, and spending a few hours in the editing room. Think mini commercial, a safety video, or maybe a recruiting video to get more people working for you.
If you don’t use all your points in a quarter, we’ll allocate 25% of unused points to the next Quarter ONLY, but we can’t realistically roll all unused points indefinitely.
